Goodyear remains a core South African factory brand. In passenger tyres the EfficientGrip family is the retail engine: Performance 2 as the premium touring seller, Compact 2 in small-car sizes, and the previous EfficientGrip Performance still widely fitted, including ZA-marked stock.

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, 5 and 6 cover the performance end. Wrangler AT and HP patterns are the bakkie and SUV go-to when customers want a Goodyear rather than a Dueler or Grandtrek.

EfficientGrip Performance 2 is Goodyear's current premium touring tyre. Goodyear cites up to 50% more kilometres than the previous EfficientGrip Performance (internal, 205/55R16 on a Golf 7) and 20% more miles than the next-best tested rival in a 2019 TÜV SÜD test versus Michelin Primacy 4, Continental PremiumContact 6, Bridgestone Turanza T005 and Pirelli Cinturato P7 Blue. Mileage Plus, Wet Braking and Dry Stability Plus technologies target wear, water evacuation and centre-rib stiffness. Auto Bild named it a 2022 summer test winner. SA listings typically run 15- to 20-inch rims.

Volume small-car line — very common 14" and 15" listings.

EfficientGrip Compact 2 is Goodyear's latest standard summer tyre for compact passenger cars. Long gripping edges help evacuate water; an optimised contact patch adds stiffness for dry stability. It is the pattern you see again and again in 155–195 section widths on entry-level hatches. Eco-minded rolling resistance and wet/dry braking are the selling points, not sporty noise levels.

Previous EfficientGrip Performance — still widely fitted, including ZA-marked stock.

The original EfficientGrip Performance remains on South African shelves and on thousands of cars that have not yet stepped up to Performance 2. ZA-marked local stock is still common. It is a balanced wet/dry touring tyre and a like-for-like replacement when the customer wants to stay on the pattern already on the car, or when Performance 2 is not in the required size.

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, 5 and 6 are Goodyear's ultra-high-performance family still actively sold. Asymmetric 6 is the current flagship: Dry Contact Plus adaptive contact patch, a wet-braking resin system for more micro-contact on damp tar, and EV-ready noise/rolling-resistance tuning. Goodyear's bakkie and SUV go-to — all-terrain and highway-terrain Wrangler patterns.

Wrangler is Goodyear's light-truck and SUV family. All-terrain (AT / AT Adventure-type) patterns use open shoulders and biting edges for gravel, with tougher sidewalls (Durawall / Kevlar on selected Adventure specs) against cuts. Highway-terrain HP / HT patterns stay quieter on tar for Fortuner, Everest and crossover use. In Alberton this is the Goodyear answer to Dueler and Grandtrek on Rangers, Hiluxes and family SUVs.
